World War Z

By now, it is common knowledge that World War Z is a zombie flick. But it is oh so much more! In what I can only categorize as cerebral-action, this movie only takes about three minutes to lay the foundation and introduce the reluctant hero figure … and then you better be ready for a wild ride; there is absolutely no BS, no throw away lines or scenes.

I was amazed at the quality of writing and relatable characters throughout; without a whole lot of spoon feeding plot points (there was a little when Brad started to put the pieces together and had this remembering moment, but they do have to help the masses keep up); the strength and presence of mind the wife portrayed; and the terrifying idea of FAST ZOMBIES. Brad Pitt gives a great performance, and this is probably an even greater ode to his abilities, but this story stands on its own legs; Brad does not have to shoulder the burden. An amazing cast and crew have come together and delivered a great film.

It was easy to slip out of the safety of our theater seats and jump right into midst of the fear and the chaos. Yesterday, I was pretty sure I could survive the zombie apocalypse with some ingenuity, common sense, and a good pair of walking shoes. Today, after seeing World War Z I have to reevaluate.

4 out of 4 thumbs up…and I’m pretty sure we will see it again.

Glad I’m not the only one who thought this was a good movie. Some of the other reviews I’ve read make me wonder whether these people had watched the same film as I did!

I totally agree. I’m afraid that it will not do so great among the mass population because it isn’t just a zombie slaughter film. There was a true story arc and it was great.
